As a market-leading credit management company, Intrum has wide-ranging expertise in debt collection services, and we do business in 24 countries in Europe plus Latin America (Brazil). We have two service lines; Credit Management Services and Portfolio Investment. The Portfolio Investment unit invested in over €1bn of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) the past 12 months, making us one of the world’s largest investors in NPLs.

Group Business Analytics is a dedicated team within Group Finance, whose purpose it is to drive analytics with a focus on business value insight and creation. In your role you will be a central part of the team, supporting senior leaders in the development of scalable descriptive, predictive and prescriptive models across the Finance agenda, including all necessary data exploration and preparation to do so. 

Key tasks/responsibilities:

  • Proactively explore data, with the purpose to identify new or additional pockets of value-creating insight, turning these into projects and deliverables
  • Prepare/review assumptions for models in a business-oriented manner
  • Review and interpret model outputs
  • Proactively use your analytical skills to transform the data into business insights and present them to key decision makers
  • Enhance and develop models (e.g. using machine learning algorithms)

We expect that you have:

  • MSc/PhD in Statistics / Economics / Computer Science or related area
  • R or Python proficiency (data crunching / modelling / visualization / markdown / shiny)
  • 4 – 5 years’ practical experience from modelling, statistical analysis, machine learning or similar
  • Expertise in applying statistical concepts within a business context
  • Experience in creating and leading the technical trainings
  • Background in financial services is a plus
  • Practical experience in industrializing scalable models
  • Knowledge in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken, other European languages is a plus
  • Experience in working with both customer, operational and financial data is a plus
